Traditional Irish Music Concert in Oviedo, Florida

This concert will feature instructors from the 2017 South East Tionól (Irish music workshop) on the uilleann pipes (Irish bagpipes) and Irish fiddle.

The performers for the evening concert include:
Eamonn Dillon on uilleann pipes, who is from West Belfast, Northern Ireland. Eamonn has been a piper for much of his life and is known for his fun and mesmerizing style of piping.

James Kelly on Irish fiddle. Many regard James as the best Irish fiddle player alive today. A native of Dublin, James learned Irish music from his father, John.

Néillidh Mulligan, from Dublin, Ireland. Néillidh is an award winning piper who has been a life-long advocate for the uilleann pipes. He has created many albums of high acclaim and having been influenced by Seamus Ennis, Leo Rowsome and Tommy Reck, is a force keeping traditional Irish music alive and well.

Deb Quigley, a native of County Down, Northern Ireland, and now residing near Toronto, Canada. Deb is known throughout North America and Ireland as a tremendous, patient instructor, and a fantastic performer. Her lovely use of ornaments keeps her audience entertained and captivated.

Nick Whitmer, a pipe-maker and historian of sorts of the uilleann pipes, is from upstate New York (though he has lived here and there). Nick has helped many pipers in their start of the instrument, and we’re excited to have him perform for all on Saturday night.

We will also have local dancers performing in the evening, making it a night of music, dance, and a great amount of craic. Beverages will be available for donation. CD’s of performers will be for sale as a well as a raffle to help raise funds for the Tionól workshop weekend.
